Tiny moments!
Ever notice how we get uncomfortable talking about our success. I have been observing myself lately and realized how much joy we allow the enemy to steal from us because of the fear of looking like a show off. I was congratulating a friend who recently got engaged about how beautiful her ring was and all she could talk about was how she had burnt her hand baking. I would not have noticed the burn marks had she not mentioned them, my focus was on the ring. She is not the first and will not be the last. I remember when I started singing in church, I wasn't working and didn't have the wardrobe to be formally dressed every Sunday. I used to wear my mother's clothes and each time I received a compliment about my dress I would mention that it actually was not mine, but belonged to my mother. I had difficulty accepting the compliment like my recently engaged friend. I had to find something wrong with the picture. It couldn't be as good as it looked.

Looking back now I realize it wasn't necessary to spill the
beans about my wardrobe but my discomfort at getting a compliment made me try to find something that would prove that I didn't really deserve the compliment. I had a negative outlook, which made me uncomfortable at soaking in the moment and celebrating how good it made me feel to know I was well dressed. It is so easy to let these negative thoughts steal our joy, to always be looking for the small loophole to really prove to ourselves that things aren't as good as they are. I was at a seminar recently where I heard that 80% of sickness is linked to wrong thinking. It is the little thing called a thought that can have life changing power. Do you know the story of Job in the Bible? He said "For the thing I greatly feared has come upon me, And what I dreaded has happened to me" (Job3:25 NKJV). Don't allow fear and negative thoughts draw what you fear into your life.
I believe life is made up of moments, tiny moments we call seconds make up our lives. We have to be careful how we spend our seconds. It may seem like a very small thing easy to lose after all its just a second not an hour. The Bible says Redeeming the time, for the days are evil (Eph5:16 KJV). Don't waste time in negativity, redeem the time and live a positive life. Think positive thoughts, those tiny thoughts are the chief engineers of the lives we lead. Don't dwell on the negative, I challenge you to find something positive to thank God for each day and see how much that changes your outlook and mood. The little things, seconds we lose being negative, the thoughts we allow to settle in our minds are the BIG things. Take care of the little things and see how the big things turn out for you.
