Recently I had a chat with someone telling me they were singing one of my songs at their service . They were asking if I still write songs and that I should not let that go. Initially the conversation triggered defenses in me. I suddenly felt like I needed to explain why I was not writing songs. Why I haven't been singing in church in a while. I have had a couple of such conversations that have led me to develop these defenses. Later as I reflected on the conversation I realised the great opportunity I have had to touch lives with the songs I wrote. Yet just a few days before the conversation I had been wondering if my life mattered to anyone at all.
