Friends!
This post has been prompted by something my sister wrote here a few weeks back about friendships. It got me thinking about how much richer I am because of the relationships I have and the people in my life. One clear example is my son, if you were to come into our house and see the array of toys he has you would imagine we have spent a lot of money. Nearly 90% of the toys he has, we never paid a single cent for. Its all gifts we have received from friends and family. There are so many other examples of the benefits of relationships I can think of but that would take me a long time to finish. Suffice it for me to say that I am so grateful for the many benefits I have enjoyed from the friendships and relationships I have.
I dont know who said this but I am very sure I am not the first one to say it "I am who I am because of you I am with". Take stock of your life and the relationships you have. What are they adding to you and what are you adding to them? I know I am richer and happier because of the people God has caused to cross my path. Do not get me wrong I am not saying go around looking for what you can benefit from people. This is just what happens as part of the relationship and it is not always about the physical stuff people do for you. It is in the conversations when your mind is stretched to see things differently. It is when I visit and learn a new way of entertaining. It is when I experience their lives and how they are bringing up their children. It is when I look at their interaction with their grown children and see the kind of parent I want to be. Relationships have helped me to see bigger and greater possibilities for my life. Here is to the many friends in need and indeed!

"Show me your friends and I will tell you what type of person you are", I dont remember who this quote is from, but I think it has a ring of truth to it.
